Now that the 2bbl MPI intake manifold has been on the
market for a few years, the demand for the 4bbl install kits has
basically declined to the point where I can no longer justify the
expense of stocking the parts required to put these kits together.
This was a product that served an important purpose during that time
period between the introductions of the 4bbl and 2bbl intakes, but now
that the reasons for installing the 4bbl version have basically dried
up, this install kit is one that time has passed by. This is a
somewhat sad day for me as the MPI kit was basically the product that
created Steiger Performance. Back when the 4bbl was on the bleeding
edge and there was very little direct Mopar support for installing
them on our trucks, I'm glad I was able to play a role in helping
folks to achieve that goal. Many thanks to everyone who purchased
an install kit, and in so doing, helping to bring Steiger Performance
to life!

Stock Intruder batteries are expensive and can be hard to find. This
product allows you to use an ES12BS battery, which is considerably
cheaper and available at just about any place that sells Motorcycle/ATV

6/11/01 - ORDER STATUS FEATURE ADDED
Steiger Performance customers can now check on the status of their
orders via the web site. I know what its like to place an order
and wonder what's happening. :-) With this feature, you can check
on your orders and see how it is progressing, what is going on in the
event of delays, get tracking numbers where applicable, etc. In order
to check on the status of an order, you will need to know the order
number.
1/31/01 - MPI KITS IMPROVED AGAIN
MPI install kits for '92-'95 engines (SP01001, SP01002)
now come with EGR bolts. The
kits have always contained an EGR blockoff plate, but you were required
to re-use your stock hardware. The new bolts are grade 8 steel with a
black phosphate finish. An additional benefit over the stock bolts are
their larger head which should ease installation and removal as well as
eliminating the annoying tendancy of the stock bolts to round off. The
prices of the
kits are unaffected.
1/22/01 - VIRTUAL SHOPPING CART
SteigerPerformance.com now features a virtual shopping cart. This
is a huge improvement over the old "one click" PayPal ordering
method. An immediate benefit is that MPI kit purchasers can now
specify the configuration of their vacuum tree on-line; no need to
place your order and e-mail me with the config seperately!
11/4/00 - MPI KITS IMPROVED
All MPI install kits now come with four locator studs which should
greatly help when dropping the intake manifold down onto the
engine. By making sure the intake will be lined up perfectly the
first time, they eliminate the chance that you will need to move the
intake after it touches the block. This should help to ensure a
solid, leak free install. Also, those kits that require the
ECT gauge temperature sensor to be relocated now also come with a
couple of ring style (crimpable) electrical terminals which will
allow you to ensure a good ground for the sensor. The installation
guide (now version 1.10) has been updated to reflect these changes.
The prices of the kits remain the same as before.
10/3/00 - 4BBL INSTALL KIT IN HOLDING PATTERN
I apologize for the delay in releasing the 4bbl throttle body install
kits. I thought they'd be done by now, but I've been waiting for some
items from the machine shop which I need before I can proceed any
further. As soon as they get caught up and get my parts to me,
the prototyping will commence! (If you would like to be notified
when the kit is ready, please send an e-mail message to
4bbl@steigerperformance.com.)
Note: Prototyping for the 4bbl install kits has been
permanently discontinued.
10/3/00 - MPI PASSES SNIFFER!
I suspected it would, but have had to
wait until an MPI equipped truck's inspection came due in an area
which does more than just a visual inspection. That has finally
happened, and now we have the cold, hard facts in black and
