Some Steiger Performance products are available with powdercoated
finishes. Because there are a variety of different powders and the powdercoating
process is different for some of them, some colors are more expensive than others.
In general, here is how the pricing works:
Standard Colors
These are "normal" colors which I keep in stock, and are usually the least expensive.
The list of standard colors is as follows:
Mirror Black (a high gloss black)
Flat Black
White
Blue
Red
Yellow
Special Colors
These are "special" colors which I keep in stock, and are usually a bit more expensive.
The reason for this is that the base powders are more expensive and/or require
multiple coats to achieve the final color.
The list of special colors is as follows:
Candy Blue (similar to Dodge "Intense Blue")
Candy Green
Candy Orange
Candy Purple
Candy Red
Chrome (Note: this is not an actual chrome plating - it is a powdercoating
process which gives a dull chrome-like appearance.
Other Colors
There are hundreds of other colors which I can powdercoat with. However, I
can't very
well afford to stock every color on the market. If you would like a different
color than one of the normally stocked ones listed above, I would be happy to
oblige, but
I will need to special order the powder. This costs me more, so I must pass
on the additional cost to you. For each product which has a choice of
powdercoat colors, there will usually be an "Other" option, and
the price listed next to it will be considerably more expensive than the standard
colors. This is
simply to reflect the "worst case scenario" - you will not actually be
charged this amount. If you select the "other" option, you will need to
contact me (or I will contact you) so you can tell me what color you would
like. I will get back to you with a price, and if you are agreeable to it,
only then will the order proceed. If you would like to see what other colors
are available, please check out the "customer pictures" and "online store"
sections of
Columbia Coatings;
a popular powder manufacturer which shows a wide variety of colors.
Hotcoat.com is another place with a large list of powder colors.
Or, if you have
a particular color in mind (for example, "John Deere Green", "Chevy Orange",
"Ford Blue"), let me know and I will see if I can locate it.
